Since my grandson is visiting, we are watching family movies together. My husband and I watch a lot of family movie channels, anyway, but more-so when our grandson spends the night. I heard another catch phrase the other night. There was a child and his friend brain-storming together to help save the family’s toy factory. The toy factory owner’s son said they needed ideas to generate money to save the business. At first, the kids came up with several childish ideas but were smart enough to know those ideas would not work. Then the children became very inventive. The owner’s son said: the best way to get any investor to loan you money is to offer more money in return on their original investment.

These two boys, after coming up with several discarded ideas, came up with a very creative plan for their desired effect. Do you think children could not possibly come up with a business plan to save a company? Just ask divorced parents how resourceful and ingenious their children can be when thinking of new ideas to get perceived wants or needs.

The whole premise of the movie offered up the idea that to get more money (investment) you need to offer more money in return (dividend). Our country, even our world, is based on this premise. Banks and investment companies would not be in business if money invested does not generate more money in return. Isn’t that why so many banks and investment companies failed?

But our world is not God’s World. We can plan, invest and, yes, create our own strategy and think we will receive a return on our investment. We are very creative trying to get our perceived wants or needs. Here’s the Ahhh-So! God originated the most productive plan. He sent His only Son to die for our sins. Jesus became the bonus plan, the disbursement and the extra share in our lives. Jesus offers us more in return on our original investment. Investing today brings Heavenly dividends.

Romans: 8:17: Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory
