You’ll never guess what I heard on TV the other night! A Commercial! So what?

The commercial was selling a dating website. The announcer said: “Love is better found the second time around.”

I’ve been thinking about that statement because it really bothered me. I felt almost belittled by a silly commercial. You see, my husband and I have been married 39 years (as of June 23). We’ve had our ups, we’ve had our downs, we’ve had our highs and we’ve had our lows. We know what the words to the Wedding Vows mean in every day living! We know For Better, For Worse, For Richer and For Poorer. We deal with the roller coaster ride called marriage with continuing love.

Some TV announcer is saying Love would be better found – a second time? I’ve taken a few days to ponder this reaction of mine. The Announcer was talking about a dating website but there is some truth to the statement.

The second time around – Love will be found FOREVER – when Jesus comes – when we live in Heaven

Love will be better found and never gone.

2 Corinthians 5: 1-5 (NIV) Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
