2 Peter 3:13

Over the Christmas holidays we watched a series of “Santa” movies. The first movie gave us the story of Santa by “inherited circumstance”. The next movie in the series told us the story of the “details in the small print”. And finally, the third movie gave us the “escape clause”.

At one time, our life story was just like those series of movies.

We inherited the circumstances of sin. We lived as we chose and denied the details of God’s story.

We were given the Escape Clause when Jesus chose to become our Savior.

2 Peter 1: 3-4 (NIV) His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
