Why do you attend Church?

Do you go to Church for the fellowship? Do you keep going back week after week for the sense of Community?

1 John 1:3 (Voice) What we saw and heard we pass on to you so that you, too, will be connected with us intimately and become family. Our family is united by our connection with the Father and His Son Jesus, the Anointed One

Do you go to Church each Sunday for the Message? Does the message keep you on track during the difficult week ahead?

Philippians 3:7 (Voice)  I want to know Him inside and out. I want to experience the power of His resurrection and join in His suffering, shaped by His death

I attend our Community Church for both … The Message and for the Fellowship.

What happens when a Church is struggling? What do we do when a rift occurs threatening to split the Church at its seams? Do we stop attending? Find another Church? Or do we wait for God to show His Plan?

I find submitting to God’s plan and/or to others the hardest part of my relationship’s.

Submission (surrendering) to the will of God or to the will of others is extremely difficult.

My NIV Bible talks about submission (surrendering)

Submission is:

Functional: a distinguishing of our roles and the work we are called to do (Gifts)

Relational: a loving acknowledgment of another’s value as a person (Fellowship)

Reciprocal: A mutual, humble cooperation with one another (Fellowship)

Universal: An acknowledgment by the Church of the all-encompassing Lordship of Jesus Christ (Message)

So how did you answer my question?

Do you attend Church for the Fellowship or the Message?

I don’t have the answer for any struggling Church community but I do have a prayer.

2 Corinthians 13:14 (Voice)  May the grace of the Lord Jesus the Anointed, the love of God the Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit remain with you all. [Amen.]
