1 Bend down, O LORD, and hear my prayer;
answer me, for I need your help.
2 Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
3 Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
4 Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
5 O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
6 Listen closely to my prayer, O LORD;
hear my urgent cry.
7 I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me
Psalm 86: 1-7 (NCV)
1 LORD, listen to me and answer me.
I am poor and helpless.
2 Protect me, because I worship you.
My God, save me, your servant who trusts in you.
3 Lord, have mercy on me,
because I have called to you all day.
4 Give happiness to me, your servant,
because I give my life to you, Lord.
5 Lord, you are kind and forgiving
and have great love for those who call to you.
6 LORD, hear my prayer,
and listen when I ask for mercy.
7 I call to you in times of trouble,
because you will answer me.
Psalm 32: 6-7 (NIV)
6 Therefore let all the faithful pray to you
while you may be found;
surely the rising of the mighty waters
will not reach them.
7 You are my hiding place;
you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance.
Psalm 32: 6-7: (God’s Word)
6 For this reason let all godly people pray to you
when you may be found.
Then raging floodwater will not reach them.
7 You are my hiding place.
You protect me from trouble.
You surround me with joyous songs of salvation. Selah
PSALM 150 IS ALL ABOUT PRAISING THE LORD
I don’t think it is a coincidence that this is the last Psalm in the Book of Psalms
Psalm 150 (NIV)
1 Praise the LORD
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with timbrel and dancing,
praise him with the strings and pipe,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD.
Psalm 9: 2 (NIV) I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.
Psalm 9:2 (The Message)
I’m thanking you, God, from a full heart, I’m writing the book on your wonders. I’m whistling, laughing, and jumping for joy; I’m singing your song, High God.
Welcome to Psalm Saturday
Psalm 107: 8-9 (NIRV) – Let them give thanks to the Lord for his faithful love.
Let them give thanks for the miracles he does for his people. He gives those who are thirsty all of the water they want. He gives those who are hungry all of the good food they can eat.
Psalm 107: 8-9 (WYC) – The mercies of the Lord, acknowledge to him; and his marvels acknowledge to the sons of men. (Give thanks to the Lord for his constant love; and for the marvellous deeds which he hath done, for the sons and daughters of men.) For he [ful]filled a void man; and he filled with goods an hungry man. (For he fulfilleth the thirsty; and he filleth the hungry with good things to eat.)
Psalm 139: 1-4 (NIRV)
Lord, you have seen what is in my heart. You know all about me. You know when I sit down and when I get up. You know what I’m thinking even though you are far away. You know when I go out to work and when I come back home. You know exactly how I live. Lord, even before I speak a word, you know all about it.
Psalm 139: 1-4 (Amplified)
O LORD, you have searched me [thoroughly] and have known me. You know my downsitting and my uprising; You understand my thought afar off. You sift and search out my path and my lying down, and You are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue [still unuttered], but, behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.
Psalm 32: 10-11 (KJV)
Many sorrows shall be to the wicked. But he that trusteth in the Lord,
Mercy shall “compass” him about. Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous.
Shout for joy, all that are upright in heart.
Psalm 32: 10-11 (ASV)
Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; But he that trusteth in Jehovah, lovingkindness shall compass him about. Be glad in Jehovah, and rejoice, ye righteous; And shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.
The Psalm for this Saturday is Psalm 63: 3-7
Psalm 63: 3-7 (NKJ)
Because thy loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name? My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
Psalm 63: 3-7 (Young’s Literal Translation)
Because better [is] Thy kindness than life, My lips do praise Thee. So I bless Thee in my life, in Thy name I lift up my hands. As [with] milk and fatness is my soul satisfied, And [with] singing lips doth my mouth praise. If I have remembered Thee on my couch, In the watches — I meditate on Thee. For Thou hast been a help to me, And in the shadow of Thy wings I sing.
