I would like to combine several Psalms that I have pondered over for the last few days. While reading in my Bible, I high-lighted several verses and have been “thinking over” what story I could tell or memory I could write on. While I was re-reading these Psalms, those verses I have struggled over became my prayer. I hope you don’t mind sharing this prayer and these praise-filled words written through abject despair and hope-filled days.

Psalm 61: 1-5
Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer.
From the ends of the earth I call to You, I call as my heart grows faint,
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For You have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe.
I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
For You have heard my vows, O God; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

My prayer continues in Psalm 62: 1-2 – verses 5-8 and verse 11

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
Find rest, O my soul in God alone; my hope comes from Him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
My salvation and my honor depend on God, He is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Trust in Him at all times, O people, pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.
One thing God has spoken and two things I heard:
that You, O God, are strong and that You, O God are loving.

Psalm 63: 1-8: finishes the prayer
You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.
I have seen You in the sanctuary and beheld Your power and your glory.
Because Your love is better than life, my lips will glorify You.
I will praise You as long as I live, and in Your name I will lift up my hands.
I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise You.
On my bed I remember You; I think of You through the watches of the night.
Because You are my help, I sing in the shadow of Your wings. I cling to You;
Your right hand upholds me.
In Jesus Name; we pray.
